Our aim is to create value for Bunzl’s shareholders, improve the standard of living of our employees and contribute to the economic, environmental and social well-being of our customers, suppliers and the communities in which we operate.

All policies apply to every business in the Group and to all directors and employees of Group companies, and govern our approach to all our activities. They are intended to guide and influence our employees’ behaviour but cannot govern every scenario. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in case of serious breaches of the policies.

We are committed to ensuring that our business is conducted in all respects according to rigorous ethical, professional and legal standards. Employees should be guided by adherence to applicable laws, regulations and our policies and procedures while at the same time apply common sense and logic and adopt the basic standards of behaviour expected in society.

We also expect our employees to make us aware of any failures to adhere to the standards set out in our Business code of conduct or the provisions of our Anti-bribery and corruption policy. The details of any concerns can be reported on a confidential or anonymous basis using our Speak Up policy and should be reported honestly, accurately and without malice.

We offer comprehensive product ranges to our customers. Efficient delivery of our products enables our customers to benefit from a lower cost and reduces the environmental impact of doing business. We believe that a focus on sustainability will lead to the development of new products and markets and can be a means to build new revenue streams. We actively review product categories for improvements in sustainability and look to develop, where appropriate, alternative, more sustainable products.

We offer advice on the sustainability of our products through our customer service channels and we aim to partner with customers to identify products and services which minimise waste, such as take-back or recycling programmes, as well as help them to achieve their sustainability goals.

Every employee is responsible for ensuring that any contact with our customers and the public at large reflects professionalism, efficiency and honesty. We constantly strive to provide high quality products and services and good value for money.

Our supply chain offers our customers the opportunity to choose from a wide range of products to meet their commercial needs. Our management and processes ensure these products are manufactured and sourced responsibly.

We are committed to working with our suppliers to ensure that adequate standards are maintained, in particular relating to their employees. We expect people to be treated well and require, as a minimum, that internationally recognised requirements for workers’ welfare and conditions of employment are met.

Our supplier code of conduct defines the principles and standards that we expect suppliers to understand and adhere to.

We are guided by our aim to deliver an engaging and inclusive employment environment and to provide the opportunity for our people to develop and advance. We offer extensive learning and development opportunities to equip them with the skills and experience they need to succeed and grow in their roles.

By treating our employees fairly and equally and accepting and embracing their diversity, we continue to grow our business, enhance collaboration and create an inclusive and positive working environment. These principles apply to our recruitment, training, promotion, transfer, reward management and performance appraisal procedures, in addition to all terms and conditions of employment.

The health and safety of our employees is a key priority for us and we are committed to achieving continuous improvement in our health and safety performance.

While compliance with legal obligations in the jurisdictions in which we operate is our minimum requirement, we seek to improve our health and safety record through identifying and sharing best practice across our businesses to ensure all significant health and safety risks are addressed.

Our objective is to reduce our impact on the environment, including factors contributing to climate change, through a commitment to continual improvement, compliance with environmental legislation and regulations in the jurisdictions where we operate and ensuring that our major impacts are addressed.

We seek to reduce our own and our customers’ impact on the environment by reducing carbon emissions, promoting the reduction of waste and providing innovative products to meet our customers’ needs, for example through the use of more sustainable packaging.

We support the communities where our employees live and work through cash donations to responsible, non-political and non-sectarian registered charities, predominantly in the fields of environment, healthcare, disability and education.

Furthermore, our businesses and employees are encouraged to volunteer to assist organisations within their local communities and/or to raise funds for local charities of their own choice which will be matched by the relevant Bunzl company, subject to certain restrictions.

Where appropriate, we will donate stock free of charge to help charitable organisations and to reduce the need to send obsolete stock to landfill.
