Bunzl acquires A&E Russell

Bunzl plc, the international distribution and outsourcing Group, today announces that it has acquired A&E Russell Limited from Drew Russell and other family members.

Based in Glasgow with 11 other locations throughout Scotland and England, A&E Russell is a leading supplier of a broad range of personal protection equipment and related products.

Revenue in the year ended 31 December 2007 was £21 million and the gross assets acquired are estimated to be £10 million.

Commenting on the acquisition, Michael Roney, Chief Executive of Bunzl, said:

"We are delighted to have acquired A&E Russell which is a well established business with an excellent reputation and a strong customer focus. It will complement our existing Greenham business and further strengthen our position in the UK market. We welcome them to the Group".
