Bunzl Acquires Care Shop in the UK

Bunzl plc, the international distribution and outsourcing Group, today announces that it has acquired Care Shop Limited from Verna Group Holdings Limited.

Care Shop, which is based in Bolton, is a leading national supplier of consumables to the independent care and nursing homes market. Revenue in the year ended 31 March 2007 was £19.0 million and the gross assets acquired are estimated to be £5.1 million.

Commenting on the acquisition, Michael Roney, Chief Executive of Bunzl, said:
